Abrams Team: God is my Invincible Army! Habakkuk 3:18-19

Habakkuk 3:18-19: "Yet I will rejoice in the lord; I will exult in the victorious God of my salvation!" "The Lord God is my strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like Hinds' feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make spiritual progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility!]." ...adapted from amplified bible

Go through obstacles in your life, push through and do not give up! The most resistance is usually right before the breakthrough. Keep pushing the enemy back with your faith, persistence and determination.

How to keep those doubts at bay and move those mountains in your life?
  • Having Faith in God continuously (this means constantly).  If you falter, asking for forgiveness and continue on in life. God will give you grace, mercy, love and forgiveness.
  • Releasing faith by speaking TO the mountains with authority and conviction (belief), hurling God's will (his word) to those mountains. Remember that faith without works is dead, so we must exercise faith by exercising authority and conviction and speaking to that mountain with belief and faith in our hearts, that God will move the mountain that stands in your way. Hearing, believing and acting on your faith is pleasing to God. He is waiting on you!
  • By praying and believing those prayers, that God will do his will for you.  Remember, the key thing to note is God's will for you, not your will for you.  In other words, not praying "carnal" prayers, but prayers that flow from the holy spirit within.
  • By walking in love, and forgiving those you hold anything against. We cannot operate under one of God's principles while completely ignoring another.  We must uphold all of God's principles.
  • Praying and asking for understanding of the Word of God to live a full and balanced life.
We are not perfect, only God is perfect, but God does give us grace to overcome and grow into the person God wants us to be.  We, as the human race, will never have "perfect" faith, but we should know that God is always faithful, and ever present.  When we falter, isn't it wonderful that we can go to God and ask for forgiveness and continue to receive his grace to overcome and flourish?!

God wants his children to live a wonderful prosperous and blessed life, reaching their destiny as ordained. Following God's will, hearing and believing the report and putting action to your faith will take you to a whole other level in your relationship with God, for this is pleasing to God and he will honor his word.  Know that God sees all, cares about you and is waiting on you to make that first step, so step out and step up.  God is waiting and extending his hand, just grab hold and watch your journey begin.

Street Ministry in Vermont

This blog is about a journey to Burlington, Vermont and encountering a divine opportunity to minister. My husband and I were walking down the street looking at the sights and came across a group of “street kids” as they commonly refer to themselves. “Jack” and “Eric” were the standout members of this incredible assembly of young adults, with Jack standing out front with a tin can and a fishing rod, talking to passersby and collecting monies.

As we walked past, Jack called out to us, wanting her picture taken, cleverly asking for money after I snapped the shot.

At first, we laughed and kept walking, but as we went to a neighborhood pizza place and ate some dinner, our thoughts were consumed with those kids in the wet rain with no food or shelter. It plagued us that we walked on by without ministering or even offering a little help, and with God’s prompting, we made our way back to that same group of kids.

In talking to the group, Jack and Eric were the most receptive, talking and sharing their story and a little of where their journey was taking them. Eric was consumed with his pregnant dog, because he had no vet to take her to and didn’t know what to do. He asked for our advice and what he should do, whereas my husband, Prophet Franz, stepped up to pray over the situation with the dog and their lives. Eric told my husband that he was still searching and looking for his place in the world, but that he would find it. His plan for himself, his girlfriend and his dog was to go to New York City next for opportunities.

As I spoke to Jack, she was warm, receptive and has a big heart. She said that this was the life she wanted, being able to be free, travel where she wanted, no restraints. Jack told me that a job just
wasn’t for her. Her and her boyfriend were splitting from the group and going a different direction than New York, Jack was ready to move on from Burlington, Vermont. In Speaking to her further, Jack let on that she is an artist, not just drawing, but also music. I put my arms around her and prayed over her life, letting her know God loves her and she is special. How gifted these street kids are, yet so lost and still looking for something that only God can give them, love, acceptance, grace and forgiveness.

After praying, ministering and fellow shipping with the kids, Prophet Franz asked if they were hungry, and of course they were. We went up the street to buy a couple of large pizzas, and took them back to the group, where amazement followed that we even came back. This saddened us, as obviously, they didn’t trust that people kept their word or cared.

Before eating, the food was blessed and sanctified, we talked and prayed some more. Jack’s boyfriend confided to us that he had been in a ministry at one time, which was incredible, especially that the group as a whole had a concept of God. Jack called us Angels, but we gave glory to God himself as his humble servants, where he made it possible to cross their paths, afford the food and be able to minister to these young adults on their level, not preaching at them, but giving them what God gave us.

We gave them our contact information, and told them if they ever needed anything or prayer, to call or email us if access to a computer could be found. We left them with a few tracks and our contact information.

My last glance as we drove past was one of the kids, possibly Jack’s boyfriend, throwing his coat over himself, and lying down on the cold wet dirty cement. This was heart wrenching, but it did my heart good to know that maybe God allowed their hearts to be open to remember the word that was spoken. I pray that these kids will remember a moment where at least two people kept their word to them, wished no harm on them and showed love instead of disrespect and judgment, all for God’s glory.

One thing about it, we are all a heartbeat away from being without our material and worldly possessions, and it is best to remember this the next time we walk by someone in need, whether it be a homeless person, a group of street kids, a prostitute, a gang banger, a mentally ill individual, an ex-convict, a normal everyday person that just lost their job and their home, the list goes on and on.

As Christians, it is our responsibility to minister to the lost, not ignore them and stay inside the church walls where we are most comfortable. Ministry is wonderful inside the church, but many people will not step foot inside a church based on how people will perceive them, thus we MUST reach outside those church walls in order to invite those most desperate and in need of God’s open invitation to wrap his arms around them and speak to their hearts. Only God’s Word can reach them, and God expects us to go out to the nations, preach the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ to everyone, in all corners of the world.

How does one get that eternal salvation and relationship with God? By accepting his son, Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior and reciting these words with an open and accepting heart, anyone can have that awesome relationship with God; the key is by opening your heart and saying these words:

“Father, you loved the world so much that You gave Your only begotten Son to die for our sins so that whoever believes in Him will not Christ is Your Son, the Savior of the world. I believe He died on the cross for me and bore all of my sins, paying the price for them. I believe in my heart that You raised Jesus from the dead and that He is alive today. I am a sinner and I am sorry for my sins and I am asking You to forgive me. By faith I receive Jesus Christ now as my Lord and Savior. I believe that I am saved and will spend eternity with You! Thank You, Father. I am so grateful! In Jesus name, Amen. “

This ends our story about an assembly of Street Kids, a group of diversified talented individuals with a lot to offer, still searching for something that they will only find in God. Our prayers are with them, we think of this brave hearted troupe often and we pray that all is well for Jack, Eric and the rest of the group, that God will deal with their hearts and keep them from hurt, harm and danger.

Remember those less fortunate, and remember that we are to show God’s love, be his light in this world of darkness, for it says in Revelations 22:12-13: “Behold, I am coming soon, and I shall bring My wages and rewards with Me, to repay and render to each one just what his own actions and his own work merit. ”I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last (the Before all and the End of all).”

God owns it all, we will reap what we sow, we must remember to live right according to God’s will. I pray our story of these street kids blessed you as much as these kids have blessed us. We give praise, thanks, honor and glory to God, the Almighty and we say Amen.
